Red Sox Fan Tips
Hardcore Red Sox fans who live in the city have already learned the art of the game. We're not talking about how to play baseball. Rather, we're talking about getting Red Sox tickets to Fenway Park, knowing where to stay when visiting from out of town and how to find the best bars and restaurants before the game. Here are a few tips for visiting Red Sox fans...
Timing The Red Sox Tickets
Tickets to Fenway always sell out. But, here's a little secret: the tickets are usually sold in blocks throughout the season. If you know the day of the game you want to attend, randomly check the Red Sox website. There may be a ticket drop that day. Also, tickets for each day's game are usually dropped on the day of the game. They move quickly so you'll have to act fast. Timing is critical.
Lodgings For Every Budget
If you're visiting from out of town and have a few dollars to spend, the Copley Marriot is a brisk 20-minute walk from Fenway park. If you've depleted your bank account by buying the tickets, consider staying at the youth hostel located on Comm Avenue.
Food And Drinks
If you're staying at the Marriot, you'll find restaurants and bars in the hotel. If you're with your family and want to avoid the folks who are on their way to a drunken stupor before the game, try the Longhorn (it's a quiet steakhouse) near the Park. If you're on the hunt for a liquid meal, you can start at Boston Beer Works and make your way to the Baseball Tavern.
Tickets, lodgings, food and drinks... that's enough to get any Red Sox fan started.
